Policies and Campaigns

Age Concern Scotland aims to influence policy and practice in the public, private and voluntary sectors on issues relating to older people, age and ageing.

By campaigning to change policy and practice, Age Concern Scotland can improve the quality of life for many more older people. A change in the law can help thousands, and an increase in the pension can put money in the pockets of hundreds of thousands of pensioners.

We also run public awareness campaigns, highlighting important issues, and encouraging older people to take advantage of their rights.

We campaign for increased pensions, better health care, and an end to poor housing. We campaign against the abuse of older people, and for more services to help people remain independent in their own homes. We campaign for better help for those disadvantaged by race, ethnic origin, disability, or gender. We campaign for a better quality of life for older people.
